Today I am going to focus on identifying what are the traits an average freelancer has and those qualities that a successful freelancer has and help readers to get to that point where you can ‘feel’ successful
How do we define success in the first place? As far as my understanding goes, success has different shapes to different people. For some its money, for some its buying a car or a new home, for others its having enough bank balance to not work for 1 year and still have the same lifestyle that he/she has today, for me success is ‘fulfillment’ of who I am and whether my skills are being utilized.
While many say comparison is not healthy, I truly believe you need to ‘compare’ and see where you stand in order to grow as an individual. Comparison for wrong reasons is unhealthy, but if you understand the true meaning and context of comparison and use it to your advantage, I say its a great decision and will be a game changer for your freelancing career.
How do we overcome these mental blocks? Its easier said than done, but if you back yourself, the following tips will help you overcome any fears you have in your early days:
Did you have all these qualities from the word go?
Not all, but yes I did have most of these qualities that helped me get to that point of satisfaction which is the ultimate ‘success’ I have been craving for
How did you develop these qualities?
I have always been self conscious, about my strengths, weaknesses and kept asking tough questions about myself, found answers, implemented most of them which helped me to travel this far
Don't you understand everyone is not as talented as you are?
I understand talent is inbuilt or natural for many, but you can always have a ‘go-around’ solution even if you have limited talent and that is how some entrepreneurs do well despite having limitations
